Marie Stitt came by the food and beverage industry honestly. Originally from Alabama, her Dad and step mom own 3 well-known restaurants in Birmingham, and her mom and step dad were deeply involved in the Charleston culinary scene. Marie spent most of her growing up years in Charleston. Towards the end of college, she began working harvests in Napa and Austria, then headed to Italy to get her Master’s degree in sustainable food systems with Slow Food program. Once her degree was completed, she made her way back to Charleston and joined Grassroots Wine. She is now the Sales Manager for Grassroots, and also co-owns Babas on Cannon, which is an old world cafe right in downtown Charleston, with her husband and brand new 4 month old daughter. Marie is an absolute delight of a human – we love that we get to help share her story!
