ANNA BRAKEFIELD: Being Raised On A Farm, The Wisdom Of Growing “Small”, And Differentiating Yourself In The Bedding & Bath Industry

Anna Brakefield is no stranger to hard work and understands, to her core, the importance of family. She grew up in Moulton, AL on her family farm called Red Land Farm. Not necessarily wanting to work on the farm once she got her graphic design degree from Auburn University, she pursued a career in marketing that took her to NYC and then to Nashville, TN. After farming the land for 30+ years, her Dad wanted to produce a quality product from the cotton he milled, so he approached Anna about his idea. They started dreaming… what if they could recreate the bedsheets of old that were high quality and only got better with time, all the while bringing manufacturing of cotton back to the USA. Anna agreed and Red Land Cotton was born. Now, only a few short years later, it’s become a fast-growing company that’s been featured in Style Blueprint, Southern Living, Garden & Gun and many other media outlets. What a fun story that reminds us that going to back to our roots may just be the very best thing!

HEATHER ADAMS: Running Toward The Flames, Providing A Quality Experience & Relationship, And Allowing Enthusiasm To Drive Us

Heather Adams, founder of Choice Media & Communications headquartered in Nashville, TN, grew up in Marietta, GA as a self-proclaimed strong-headed female who was always “ruffling feathers”. Those qualities served her very well though as she worked her way through multiple organizations and character developing opportunities, ultimately leading her to start her own media and communications firm where she has and continues to advocate and promote people she respects who are doing good work, people such as Rev. Billy Graham, President Jimmy Carter, Dave Ramsey, Jen Hatmaker, the Johnny Cash family, Marcus Buckingham, John Maxwell, and Max Lucado, among a long list of others. Heather is a connector, she’s got a contagious presence, she’s driven, she’s a wife and mom of two boys plus two guinea pigs, and just a genuinely kind person. We loved our time with this powerhouse of a leader and hope you do as well!

Leigh-Ann Beverley grew up in Fairfax, VA in a very creative family. Music and art were common activities in her house and were taught early on, but she was also a self-proclaimed “tomboy” competing with the boys in whatever sports she could. Her photography and videography career was foreshadowed by how she could always be found recording her family and friends doing even the simplest activities with her now vintage video recorder. Storytelling was in her from early on. But, before she became well-known for her crazy talented skills with the camera, LA sold wine for 8 years. It was through selling wine and her ability to quickly establish trust and rapport in relationships that she created connections that would be the stepping stones to her future as a photographer/videographer for vineyards and musicians all over the world through her company Bona Fide Productions. Among many things, she’s an artist, a musician, a cook, and a traveller, but probably most impressive to us was her humility and heart for others. We hope you enjoy this episode!
